About the Laughing Lizards

The Laughing Lizards Old Time String Band is based out of Houston, TX and started in 2007.  Their music is Appalachian Old Time, Louisiana Cajun, Texas Swing, Ragtime, and Gospel.  Steve Bing plays fiddle, mandolin, and Cajun accordion, and is a traditional square and contra dance caller and Donna Bing plays guitar and banjo ukulele, Dr. John Templeton plays banjo and bass, Liz Hampton plays bass, fiddle, and mandolin.  Our vocals are two and three part harmonies.  We play for square dances and contra dances, festivals, breweries, pubs, parties, and restaurants.  We would like to play for your event so contact us via the home page and click on "email" or "FACEBOOK."  We also have a great YOU-TUBE video page which you can also access from our home page.

     *  Steve Bing and the Bayou Hot Shots - all traditional Cajun music.  This CD received an award by the Cajun French Music Association in 2009 for best First CD.
     *  Richard Miller and the Musical Playboys featuring Steve Bing accordion and fiddle.  Traditional Cajun music recorded "live" at DI's Restaurant in Basile, Louisiana.

March 2018

March 8, 9, 10, 11 - Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lagniappe Dulcimer and Old Time Music Fete (Festival).  Steve and Donna stage performances and calling dances, Steve teaching fiddle classes, Donna teaching guitar classes.  This is the 20th year anniversary of the Fete.  Other activities to be announced.
